Dr. Bowes' office....(202) 973-2837

Leaving a detailed voice message is very helpful. All messages are confidential. Only Dr. Bowes listens to voice mail.

During office hours:

--Dr. Bowes is busy most hours of the work day. Tell the receptionist about any urgent problem, and Dr. Bowes can be interrupted or alerted that your voice message is waiting.

After office hours:

--You will be asked to leave a voice message. Dr. Bowes checks her voice mail during non-work hours.

If there is a time when you need to call the emergency department nearest you or another health care provider.

The following is a handy checklist for what to do:
  • Get to the point of your call quickly, especially if you've phoned after hours. (Have someone else call the doctor for you if you are unable to talk.)

  • Define your problems and symptoms. Write these down first, call and using the list, report them quickly and completely.

  • Ask the doctor what you should do and be prepared to write it down. Repeat what you are going to do.

  • Make sure you know if and when you should call back, or if you should come to the office.
